Spotting a Square Enix developed title these days is as easy as scanning for the most nonsensical names possible. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy was released in Japan in October last year, and until recently, there was no word on any localisation. According to Siliconera, they met with several “trusted sources” and can confirm that Bravely Default is heading our way, which means we should be very excited.

It’s been over a decade since we were first introduced to the blitzball superstar Tidus and summoner prodigy Yuna. Square Enix allegedly held a private press conference at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco last week. In it, details about a new game - Kingdom Hearts 3 - were apparently discussed. There was some scepticism, and rightfully so: the GDC line-up doesn’t list the company among the participants.
Only a short time after “news broke,” the pranksters owned up. While it might not have been an official announcement, the excitement generated by the announcement should be a strong indicator to Square Enix that fans desperately want to see Kingdom Hearts 3 that was teased so long ago.
Hopefully official news on the next numbered instalment in the Kingdom Hearts series, as well as other Square Enix games trapped in development hell, will surface soon.
